FSCJ is closed for Winter Break, Thursday, December 19-Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and New Year’s Day on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The College will reopen Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Admissions Checklist

Thank you for your interest in attending the English Language Institute.

The following checklist is designed to help you complete our application process:

  • Complete the International Admission Application and submit $80 non-refundable application processing fee (check or money order in U.S. currency).
    • There’s no $80 application fee for international students applying for the ELI program
  • Complete the Certificate of Financial Responsibility.
    • Submit all required bank statements showing $16,270 USD, signed by a bank official, indicating the name of the account holder and the amount of funds available.
    • Note: $6,000 added for every dependent
  • Provide copy of passport for applicant and all dependents
  • Provide copy of visa, if applicable (F-1 visa passport sticker, other US-issued visas, or I-797 change of status to F-1 approval notice) for applicant and all dependents
  • Provide copy of I-94, if applicable 
  • Provide copy of previous I-20, if applicable for applicant and all dependents

U.S. Transfers:

  • Submit copies of your visa and I-94 (front and back). You will also need an International Student Transfer Form and copy of previous I-20. Applicants transferring from any college/university must be in status with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. All transcripts and submitted to Florida State College at Jacksonville become the property of the College and cannot be returned or forwarded elsewhere. Credentials of applicants who do not enroll will be destroyed.

It is important to remember that your application for admission will not be reviewed until all required documents are received by the admissions office. If your application is accepted for admission, you will receive an I-20 and official acceptance letter. Admission is for a specific session. (If you are unable to come for that session, you should inform the English Language Institute staff immediately.
