Dual Enrollment can help a student accelerate his or her educational goals, eliminate duplication between high school and college course content, and increase the rigor and challenge of course offerings while in high school.

Dual Enrollment enables high school students to simultaneously earn both high school and college credits for a single course. For example, a student completing MAC 1105 College Algebra would earn both a full credit of high school mathematics as well as three college credits.

Traditional Dual Enrollment provides eligible accelerated high school students the opportunity to simultaneously earn both college credit and a high school diploma. Students may take a maximum of 11 credits in the fall and spring terms, and up to 6 credits for the summer term (for a total of two courses maximum).

Early Admission is a form of Dual Enrollment for eligible high school seniors. Students must have a 3.5 unweighted high school GPA. Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 14 Dual Enrollment credit hours each fall and spring term.

This program allows admitted students to complete 60 credits of dual enrollment coursework, culminating in earning both a standard high school diploma as well as an Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Science (A.S.) degree upon the completion of four years of high school. FSCJ offers Early College in select high schools in both Nassau and Duval counties. This program is limited acceptance, and students must meet specific criteria to be eligible to participate. Students commit to this program for the four years they are in high school.

FSCJ offers Career Dual Enrollment as an option for high school students who are interested in earning industry certifications that count as credit toward a high school diploma. Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are an exciting alternative to the traditional university pathway and can lead to high-wage, high-skill, in-demand careers. Eligible students must have a 2.0 cumulative, unweighted high school GPA. Select Technical Certificates offered for college credit will require a 2.5 unweighted high school GPA.
