FSCJ is closed for Winter Break, Thursday, December 19-Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and New Year’s Day on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The College will reopen Thursday, January 2, 2025.
The Aviation Powerplant Mechanics Technical Certificate (T.C.) prepares students for entry into the aviation maintenance industry. Aircraft and engine manufacturers and repair facilities are looking for individuals who have the skills to assemble and repair aircraft piston and turbine engines.
Classes are approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and, upon completion, students are eligible to take the FAA written, oral and practical exams for the FAA Mechanic Certification with the Powerplant rating.
Additional Costs/Fees: Drug screen report through Medical Express Corp. - $26. Background check done through a local Sheriff’s Office of the student’s county of residence - $5. Tools (depending on source) - $700-$1,500.
