FSCJ is closed for Winter Break, Thursday, December 19-Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and New Year’s Day on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The College will reopen Thursday, January 2, 2025.
The FSCJ Continuing Workforce Education Low Voltage Technician Workforce Certificate program prepares students for a career in the growing field of low voltage systems installation and maintenance. This program provides hands-on training and foundational knowledge in low voltage electrical systems including security systems, fire alarms, security systems and fire alarms.
Topics discuss include alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) circuits, electronic devices, and the tests, equipment, cables, and terminations involved in low-voltage system installations. Students will gain hands-on experience using and maintaining power tools and test equipment for electronics integration and proper construction methods and codes for low-voltage systems
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to Florida Fire Alarm System Agent (FASA) and Burglar Alarm System Agent (BASA) certification.
