Earn your Florida Motorcycle License
What do I need to bring?
Motorcycle gloves, full finger
Sturdy over-the-ankle shoes or boots
Sturdy pants/jeans
Long sleeve shirt and/or jacket (we suggest you wear a light short-sleeve shirt, bring a long sleeve shirt to put on every time you ride)
Eye protection such as plastic sunglasses
If you have a DOT-approved helmet, please bring your own. We do have some loaner helmets.
Please note: You will NOT be allowed to ride if you do not have the proper riding gear listed above!!!!

Drinks/lunch
Rain gear if you have some or a dry change of clothes just in case we get wet
Is your Drivers License valid?
A valid driver's license is required to take this course. If you register for this course and your driver's license is not valid you will not receive credit for completing the course and you will forfeit the fee paid. You can check the status of your driver's license at https://services.flhsmv.gov/DLCheck/. It is YOUR responsibility to check with your State DMV to make sure they will accept course completion in the state of Florida if you do not carry a Florida driver’s license.
Do I have to attend all class sessions?
Classes are scheduled as Saturday and Sunday or consecutive Saturdays (8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.). MUST attend both days. Class end times may vary due to weather/circumstances).
Where is the course offered?
At the Florida State College at Jacksonville North Campus, 4501 Capper Road. Please click: (Directions and Map)to view.
Where do we meet?
Both days will start with a classroom session in Building A, Room 209, enter the building at the Security office. Please show up 15 minutes early in order to get the admin done and for class to start on time.
What if I am not 18 years old?
You need a parent or guardian to sign the attached waiver and bring it with you to class. You will NOT be permitted to partake in the class if you do not have a signed waiver.
What can I do to be better prepared for this class?
Once we have received your registration, our operations team will send you a link to register and complete a Motorcycle Safety Foundation eCourse. This course is free with your registration and required completion prior to the class start date. This eCourse is a self-paced course that will introduce you to the Fundamentals of Motorcycling. We will re-enforce those fundamentals with riding exercises during the on-site portion of this offering. You can also use the following link to view the Basic RiderCourse Handbook, which can be downloaded and saved for future reference.
