FSCJ is closed for Winter Break, Thursday, December 19-Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and New Year’s Day on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The College will reopen Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Taking an ACTFL exam can shorten the time it takes to earn your degree and satisfy a foreign language proficiency requirement by demonstrating that you have already mastered the content. ACTFL exams can reduce the number of college courses you need to graduate, saving hundreds of dollars in tuition. ACTFL offers a way to receive college credit for “what you know.”
A score rating of at least “Intermediate Mid” or higher will result in the award of college credit and satisfy the Florida State College at Jacksonville Foreign Language I and II degree requirements through ACTFL language proficiency exams in any of the following formats:

Next screen: “Select Test” Choices are: OPI, WPT, OPIc (Candidate will see notation if the selected language is not available in a certain format). Candidate will choose from available testing formats by clicking on the format test block (This will also update the cost in the “cart”). Click “Continue”
Next screen: “Select Date & Time” Candidates will need to choose time zone from the dropdown menu. Candidates will need to enter information for two test dates and start/ending times. Click “Continue” (These are the test dates you discussed with FSCJ).
Next screen: “Select Upgrades” Candidates will need to choose the option: “Official Copy of Certificate $10” Click “Continue” At the bottom of this screen you will need to complete the information: Institute Name: Florida State College, Street Address: Kent Campus Assessment Center ATTN Richard Sidney 3939 Roosevelt Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205

LTI/ACTFL will send an email with confirmation of test date and time to the candidate and to FSCJ. The candidate will need to contact FSCJ to confirm receipt of email, appointment date and time.
After the test has been scored the candidate will receive an email from LTI/ACTFL to notify them that their ACE request has been processed. It can take up to 4 weeks to receive this email. The email will provide the candidate with a student userid and password and the link to view their unofficial score report. The candidate will need to open this link and answer the question: How would you like your official score report to be sent to your institution? The candidate MUST choose the option of “Hard Copy” and indicate to mail it to: Kent Campus Assessment Center ATTN Richard Sidney 3939 Roosevelt Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205
The ACTFL (OPI, OPIc, and WPT) are administered by appointment at Florida State College – Campus Assessment Centers. Candidates MUST contact the FSCJ Assessment Center Campus ACTFL coordinator before signing up for this exam.

Standard retest policy dictates a waiting period of 90 days to give the candidate significant study time, exposure or practice to develop language skills.
