FSCJ is closed for Winter Break, Thursday, December 19-Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and New Year’s Day on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The College will reopen Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (CJBAT)

The Criminal Justice Basic Ability Test (CJBAT) program is a Florida Department of Law Enforcement entrance examination for Law Enforcement and Corrections Officer. The CJBAT is administered only in the State of Florida. Applicants, training schools and criminal justice agencies may access examination pass/fail results on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website.

 

Scores are valid for four years.

Candidates may take the assessment up to three times in a twelve month period.

All payments for exam fees are handled through PearsonVUE.

To schedule an appointment for the Criminal Justice Basic Ability Test, you do not have to be a Florida State College at Jacksonville student.

Candidates can phone the call center at 1-877-729-0059 (toll free) Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. Note:

Registration and scheduling are not available through test centers.

The CJBAT, developed by Industrial/Organizational Solutions (IOS), Inc., measures the defined “minimum competencies” in three separately-timed sections as follows: Section I - behavioral attributes; Section II - memorization; and Section III – written comprehension, written expression, deductive reasoning, and inductive reasoning. In total, there are 97 questions on the CJBAT. You will have 1 ½ hours (90 minutes) to complete the exam.

Out-of-state testing is no longer available. All testing must take place in Florida.

Additional score reports for candidates who tested prior to August 15, 2019 are available for $3. Candidates who tested after August 15, 2019 may attain additional reports by signing into their FDLE account.
