FSCJ Receives Bank of America Grant to Support Workforce Training

Jun 9, 2022, 12:55 PM by System
FSCJ was recently awarded a grant from Bank of America that will cover the course fees and tuition for 20 students to participate in the Northeast Florida Environmental Workforce Training Program. The program was developed to prepare students for long-term careers in occupational and environmental safety.

The training program can be completed in less than eight weeks and, upon
completion, participants will earn in-demand certifications and certificates in HAZWOPER 40, OSHA 30 General Industry, American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Florida Ready to Work.

“We are grateful to Bank of America for their commitment to our institution and the future of our community,” said FSCJ President John Avendano, Ph.D. “With their support, these students will be doing much more than receiving education, training and the necessary certifications to step into a job. They’re also building a bright future for themselves and their families that they may have never thought to be possible.”

The first classes will begin September 14. To learn more about the individual classes, visit fscj.edu/academics/workforce-education/cwe/ocsafe. For questions or to apply, email workforceops@fscj.edu.
