The BlueWave Forensics season is off to a great start.

The BlueWave Forensics season is off to a great start. The first tournament of the year saw Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) face stiff competition at Tallahassee Community College. Nevertheless, several FSCJ students advanced to the final round of competition in their events. See their results below:

  • Bowen Barrs—placed sixth in After Dinner Speaking
  • Lovely Sainsurin—placed fifth in the Poetry Interpretation

The very next weekend, the BlueWave Forensics team traveled to Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida for another tournament against two- and four-year schools in the region.  And once again, the team saw success with even more advances to finals.

  • Bowen Barrs—placed fourth in After Dinner Speaking and fifth in Prose Interpretation
  • Adonis Lane—placed third in After Dinner Speaking
  • Emily Batista—placed fourth in Program Oral Interpretation
  • Lovely Sainsurin—placed third in Poetry Interpretation
  • Madeline Windsor—placed second in Poetry Interpretation

FSCJ finished fourth overall as a team, which is especially impressive considering that every competitor is in their first semester of competition.

If you have these students in your classes, please congratulate them on a job well done. They are representing the College with poise and professionalism. Stay tuned for more results as the team heads to Berry College in Rome, Georgia, and as FSCJ plays host to teams around the country for the 15th annual Star Invitational Forensics Tournament this week, November 13-15.

FSCJ’s Forensics team is led by Chad Kuyper, director of forensics at FSCJ’s South Campus. Chad was recently recognized on ratemyprofessors.com Top 25 Best Professors in America list. Congratulations to the team and Chad!

Go BlueWave!
