Students Attend IT Symposium for Career Education

The Computer Information Technology and Networking departments recently lead an engaging IT Symposium at the Nathan H. Wilson Center for the Arts to inspire our students to pursue careers in the IT industry.

The Computer Information Technology and Networking departments recently lead an engaging IT Symposium at the Nathan H. Wilson Center for the Arts to inspire our students to pursue careers in the IT industry.

The theme of the symposium was “Your IT Compass, How to Navigate your IT Career Path.” 

The discussion focused on topics from the importance of internships, what characteristics students need to succeed in IT and the overall state and future of IT within the city of Jacksonville. This was a successful event that gave more than 60 of our students the chance to interact and gain industry knowledge from some of our great partners within the industry. 

The symposium panel consisted of:

  • Devin Knight - Training Lead - Microsoft MVP
  • Craig Tees - CEO/President - Tyrofy LLC
  • Jessica French - Account Executive -Brooksource (Moderator)
  • Christopher Markham - Chief Information Officer - Florida State College at Jacksonville
  • Dean Layton - Senior Vice President - Bank of America
  • Nik Patel - Senior Vice President- Citi Bank
  • Kamesh Aysola – Senior Technology Executive IT, Crime Analysis Fusion Center
