March 2024 Recruitment Update

Mar 13, 2024, 13:11 PM by Amanda Burgess

A dynamic recruitment plan goes beyond direct engagement with prospective students. There are strategic audiences that also play a vital role in informing and supporting prospective students’ decision making. Two groups recently spent time at South Campus learning more about the College when the Student Recruitment Office hosted its annual Principals and Counselors Meeting on Friday, February 23.

The aim of the Principals and Counselors Meeting is to ensure these influential partners have relevant information to accurately advocate for the College. This year’s meeting offered the groups a seven-stop campus tour, where guests heard from program personnel and witnessed student learning in various locations, including Visual Arts, American Sign Language, danceWORKS, Digital Media, Information Technology, Music/Chorus, Sports/eSports and Theatre.

On the heels of the tour, the nearly 70 principals and counselors attended information sessions. Two blocks of 20-minute sessions included: College Readiness: Preparation and Pathways, Preparing Students for Tomorrow’s Technologies, Reach Higher: Honors Program at FSCJ, Go Further: High School Acceleration, FSCJ Connections: UNF Connect, FAMU Ignite and Degree Articulation, FSCJ Advising Updates, Student Life at FSCJ and Salute to Service: Military-Affiliated and Veteran Students.

In addition to the tours, greetings from South Campus Dean Andrew Pierce, an introduction by VP of Student Development Elliott Strickland, and a presentation by Director of Continuing Education Jefferson Everett rounded out the morning.
