WHAT: The Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) S-5 Scholarship Program and the FSCJ Next Generation PLC Grant, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, will host a Northeast Florida FIRST LEGO League robotics tournament at the FSCJ Advanced Technology Center.
Fourth- through eighth-grade students from Baker, Duval, Nassau, St. Johns and surrounding counties will compete in the robotic competition. These students have worked for several weeks to plan, construct and program an autonomous robot, conduct research on a topic of their own choice and prepare a presentation of their findings.
FIRST LEGO League is an international educational program. It was initiated in 1998 by the American foundation FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and the LEGO company.
Northeast Florida FIRST LEGO League is actively seeking competition judges with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics (STEAM). Individuals interested in volunteering as a judge should visit the following link and create an account.
