Government Relations

Welcome to the Florida State College at Jacksonville Office of Government Relations.

The Office serves as the College’s external liaison for the purpose of community participation through program related activities and partnerships with entities within Duval and Nassau counties and the regional service area. Effective relationships are established and maintained with business and community-based organizations, local, state and federal officials and government agencies.

The Office works to strengthen the Collegewide unified mission of increasing visibility by enhancing community collaboration and promoting the College’s Strategic Plan. The Office reinforces academic and workforce initiatives and regional connectivity through the access of state and federal resources and provides guidance on policy impacting the College.

The Florida Legislature meets for 60 days every year alternating start date by two months.
